About Donna Collins - Internet Researcher

President & CEO of Crystal Clear Transitional Care Inc.

Donna Collins

My name is Donna Collins. I am the CEO of Crystal Clear Transitional Care Inc., an advanced clinical practice research firm located in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. I have an advanced clinical practice degree from Athabasca University, with a nurse practitioner focus. I graduated from the University of New Brunswick, Saint John Campus, Faculty of Nursing Program (2000), and a Court Reporting Diploma/Certificate (Court Reporting) from George Brown College, Toronto, Ontario (1996). As you can see, I am a life-long learner.

I worked in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the Saint John Regional Hospital (2000-2004), and floated to other intensive care units as needed (SICU, MICU, ER, Neuro-ICU). After many deaths, I took a job at the Saint John Regional Correctional Facility (Aug 2004-2012). In this work, I learned through first-hand experience the knowledge gaps in methadone/opioid prescribing and resuscitation. Today, August 30, 2019, I returned the Mental Health Strategy in Canadian Corrections to Canadian correctional stakeholders.

Now I complete ‘program evaluation’ when people die from premature and preventable death. I try to determine what when wrong and how to FIX the problem so it does not happen to someone else. For example, on June 3, 2016, I ordered Narcan Nasal Spray into Canada to manage the acute phase of the Canadian opioid overdose epidemic.

I return ‘flawed’ and ‘deadly’ clinical tools back to Canadian and international authors.

I have also placed the Canadian order for Flumazenil in the Nasal Spray resuscitative device with Emergent Bio Solutions for the management of benzodiazepine overdose. Sometimes more than one antidote is needed in resuscitation. As you will see, I am an internet researcher.
